Location: Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil

After visiting Fortaleza, Brazil and feeling comfortable there, I decided to finally retire and spend some time persuing my dream: moving to Brazil. I'm spending six months in Fortaleza deciding if this is what I really want or if it is just one more step in my life. I have been fortunate enough to do everything I ever wanted to do, have had a good career in Air Traffic Control and am now ready to go out and have fun. I played jazz for many years and it is my second passion. I also just finished the first draft of my novel, "Song For A Sad Smile" and will work on researching my next book. My idea is that all of us should "Do the Dream" and follow your heart, no matter how old you are. The final question that you'll ask when your life is almost over should be: "Did I do everything I wanted to do?" If your answer is anything except "yes" then you're not living life to its fullest.

Third post

Hi, everybody...This is my third post; the BLOG seems to be working though I still haven't figured out how to attach pictures. I might have to use a different method to do that. I'm attaching a couple of links; a friend of mine who lives in Fortaleza sent them to me. If you follow the directions you can see the exact location of my apartment there. As you can see, it's pretty close to the beach and to Beira Mar, one of the main areas in Fortaleza. It's got a wonderful view of the ocean and surrounding area as well as being convenient to most things; there are three shopping malls within walking distance as well as American Express, McDonalds and Pizza Hut (if you need them) and at least a dozen excellent restaurants. Because it's so close to the ocean, the sea breeze is constantly there cooling things down.

Click here: Find the pools in the right side of the picture...go right about 1/2 inch to where you see two orange roofs running perpendicular to the street; count up three buildings until you see a big white building...count up 13 floors on the right side of the building facing the ocean. Let me know what you think...

This is a larger picture....

I hope to hear from you all soon...feel free to post a remark on the BLOG.
